What makes South Tyrol so unique?

Unsurprisingly, South Tyrol is one of the most sought-after places to live in Europe. With its rugged Dolomite peaks and lush vineyards, it is both Alpine and Mediterranean at the same time. Speaking German, Italian, and Ladin, the region bridges its cultural contrasts. South Tyrol adheres to its tradition while uniting them with the present. South Tyrol combines enjoyment and closeness to nature. South Tyrol is boundless freedom. After all, to experience South Tyrol is to love South Tyrol.

South Tyrol in all its diversity

The mix makes all the difference

South Tyrol. Welcome to our sensational and enchanted landscape, unique for its contrasts of rugged Alpine vistas and Mediterranean wine landscapes. Shaped by the unique beauty of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it's here that food specialities such as apples, wine and speck are produced. Due to a mild climate with over 300 days of sunshine, these products are of exceptional quality. Not to mention the experienced and passionate farmers.

One of the most sought-after places to live in Europe, South Tyrol is a place where  innovation and design coexist with long traditions. After all, it is the people and their culture that make it a dynamic melting pot of languages: Italian, German and Ladin. It’s favourable geographical position as the northernmost region of Italy means that it is nestled between Tyrol, in the north, and Trentino, in the south. Experience for yourself the mixture of southern calm and rural down-to-earth values. The influence of South Tyrol’s characterful and famous personalities continue to shape the province.

From the wine-growing village of St. Magdalena/Santa Maddalena near Bolzano/Bozen, views extend over palm trees and cypresses towards the snowy peaks of the Rosengarten massif in the background.
