Tried and tested places of interest and facilities, for easily accessible holidays in Valle Isarco Valley
The gentle highland ridges and valleys bottoms of the Valle Isarco Valley provide a wealth of opportunities for pleasant walks and excursions, ideal for families with small children and prams, as well as senior citizens and visitors with disabilities.
Selection of Routes, Places of Interest and Facilities
We have been careful to try select trails with broad paths, even ground and moderate slopes. These are mostly paved routes or non-paved forest roads and paths, some of which may also contain some washed-out passages. Stony ground, loose gravel and roots can make pushing wheelchairs or prams difficult, which makes it advisable to be prepared for any unforeseen situations and to never travel alone. Relevant information is included wherever possible in the directions. In Valle Isarco Valley, the Zannes/Zans Nature Experience Trail and the hike to Vahrner See lake are sign-posted as accessible routes. Public facilities are accessible, with each level connected by an elevator. Wheelchair-accessible toilets and washing facilities are standard. Valle Isarco Valley is filled with places of interest and facilities such as the Acquarena indoor and outdoor swimming pool in Bressanone/Brixen, and the Balneum swimming pool in Vipiteno/Sterzing, as well as the Mineral Museum in Tiso/Teis and the Puez-Geisler Nature Park House in Funes/Villnöss, which are all flagship accessible buildings in South Tyrol.
