Specials along the Tour

  • The "Chapel of the Dead" is a small mountain church located at a height of 2.186 m, containing a large-sized crucifixion group erected by the miners in the medieval era, easily reachable on the way of the cross with its 14 stations
  • "Schwarzsee" lake: crystal clear mountain lake situated westwards close to the Chapel of the Dead. One entrance to the mining area is still open. Together with a prehistoric melting place below the lake, it bears witness to over 3000 years of the history of copper mining
  • "Rinderplatzmoor": one of the largest and most charming moors in South Tyrol, and moreover one of the last blanket bogs of Europe
