14 artists from all over the world will put a new spin on Brixen’s oldtown through 27 light and art installations. Water as life and light as art – this at first glance, insignificant connection creates unique moments of lights during the Water Light Festival.
. A variety of international and local artists are part of this year’s Water Light Festival. Thanks to the diverse cast different installations- ranging from oversized objects to video-mapping techniques and animated films on the water surface – can be admired.
A total of 27 light and art installations will put a new spin on the water sides and the historic and cultural treasures of Brixen at the Water Light Festival creating a unique atmosphere along the oldtown streets’.
The free course, connected by a blue line, invites you to marvel, to participate and to enjoy, and every now and then to pause.
International Day of Light.
The Water Light Festival is an official part of the UNESCO’S international network “International Day of Light”.
Identifying the direct link between light, art and culture and preserving the cultural heritage are the main goals of the “International Day of Light”, which will take place every year on May 16 starting from this year.
The Water Light Festival focuses on light, art and culture. Combined with water, the event is, therefore, something unique and it is already considered the largest festival of light in the Alps.
