The world of sparkling wines 2024 Monday

Kaltern an der Weinstraße/Caldaro sulla Strada del Vino, The South Tyrolean Wine Road

Sparkling wine tasting and guided visit at the Kettmeir winery. The journey starts with a tour of the historic winery and ends with a final wine tasting. Participants will learn the difference between the definitions Brut, metodo classico and doux. They will also discover what the pupitre is used for and what remouage is. INCREDIBLE SOUTHERN BLUES BAND (Südt./A) - (Tyrolean Blues)

Since 1989, the four gentlemen of the blues from North and South Tyrol have been celebrating their elegant blues in an unchanged line-up and without interruption. This makes the cross-border formation with cabaret artist Markus Linder (keyboards), Gianni Ghirardini (guitar), Werner "Haifisch" Heidegger (bass) and Roland Egger (drums and vocals) one of the oldest active blues bands in the European region of South Tyrol-Tyrol-Trentino. STEINEGG LIVE IN BLUES - The Steinegg-Live cultural association is offering a slightly different kind of concert for the 14th time in April 2024. The idea is that of a "shared experience". In this case, instead of the band playing on stage and the audience sitting "downstairs" as usual, everything takes place on stage. The audience sits next to the musicians and thus experiences the feeling and the sound much more intensively and authentically. In this case, of course, it is blues - in all its facets. Age limit: 18 to 99 years (in exceptional cases also over 99 - no exception for U18) Limited number of participants! Booking necessary!

The mountain mine of Villanders-Inauguration of the museum "ROTLAHN"

This museum was initiated by the Villandro mine and financed by LEADER and the municipality of Villandro. It is now open to all visitors and offers a place of reflection and peace. The grand opening will take place on April 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. After the blessing, we invite you to a cozy get-together with a drink. There is also the option to take a guided tour of the Elisabeth Stollen. We look forward to welcoming you to this special occasion and celebrating the history and culture of the mine together with you. From April 25th to All Saints Day we will again be offering regular tours of the mine on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays or by appointment.

Thus would Walther von der Vogelweide have probably received us, bidding us “willekomen” to his home of Lajen, which he left in the late 12th century in order to conquer the entire German-speaking world with his songs and poems. Walther was the star minnesinger, the one who knew how to entertain the ladies and gentlemen at court – up to and including numerous crowned heads. As a consummate professional, he knew exactly what his audience wanted to hear, whether it was poems about noble ladies and (not so noble) girls, or works with a more solid content: crown, church, crusades.

Wild herbs in the kitchen - Lana in bloom 2024

"LANA IN BLOOM" – in pots and on plates. That spring is tentatively preparing to make its debut, is noticeable from the first bulbs appearing on the new branches of trees and shrubs, or well-tended pot plants in private gardens, and a wide range of herbs growing in the wild. Nature’s reawakening also fires the creative imagination of the restaurant chefs in and around Lana. Between 1 – 30 April 2023, during the "Lana in Bloom" gourmet weeks, there are abundant reinterpretations of traditional delicacies using seasonal wild herbs and fresh local ingredients. Lana’s annual food festival is supplemented with local D.O.C. certified wines, fastidious attention to detail — and an overall ‘feel-good’ atmosphere.

Every year in Spring, Brixen is the venue for the Water Light Festival. From 24 April to 12 May, the sixth edition of the Water Light Festival will take place at nightfall in the town of Brixen and during the day in the Neustift monastery (until 29th of June 2024). Once again, this year, artists from all over the world will bring their creative ideas to South Tyrol. The Water Light Festival combines light art, contemporary art and environmental awareness. The aim is to create awareness and sensitivity and to encourage reflection. The installations combine creativity, visual illusions, lyrical elements and stimulate reflection. The focus is on the elements of water and light. Asparagus season in Terlan

n the villages of Vilpian, Siebeneich and Terlan asparagus has been grown for centuries. Today 15 asparagus growers in Terlan plant approx. 10 ha of high quality asparagus and sell it under the trade mark and hallmark of excellence Margarete. The elegant looking and extremely mild tasting Terlan asparagus is very popular with the connoisseurs of this white spring vegetable. In April and May several restaurants invite visitors to enjoy classic and creative asparagus dishes made with the valuable Margarete asparagus. Fresh asparagus with home-cured ham, boiled potatoes and Bozner sauce is one of the classics. The meal is accompanied by the fine, mineral containing Terlano “asparagus wine” (Sauvignon) from the Terlan winery.

Special Solo exhibition "Adolf Vallazza 100"

The exhibition dedicated to him and displayed at Museion Passage has been organized in collaboration with the Archivio Adolf Vallazza. It brings together a selection of drawings, ranging from the 1960s to the present day, with ten large abstract wooden sculptures presented for the first time in the same museum space. The exhibition, which consists mainly of the artist’s more abstract wooden sculptures - including totem poles, menhirs and bird sculptures, some from the Museion collection - is also an opportunity to acquaint the general public with Vallazza’s graphic work, from the 1960s up until today. The act of drawing has always and continues to accompany the artist’s work as a sculptor. The drawings and sketches, mounted on the wall and in a display case, are in different formats and techniques, but they all testify to the formal research and spatial and symbolic relationships of his productions.

Cement in the brain

Feichter performs in the StadtGalerie Brixen, where visitors are initially greeted by a carpet of fog. A walk through the gallery reveals high towers here and there, protruding through the blanket of fog. Gradually, sculptures moulded from various materials appear. They are reminiscent of organic structures or architecture and landscapes from a bird's eye view. But just when visitors think they can make out something familiar in the swathes of fog, the next cloud of grey-white water droplets appears and makes everything disappear into obscurity again - like a memory that fades away. The installation and performance artist Fabian Feichter, who is also active as a musician, is showing his exhibition at the StadtGalerie as part of the Water Light Festival. In his works, he repeatedly explores the theme of water and its different aggregate states: a glacier in the form of a kebab skewer, artificial ice in a hotel room, a snow substitute from a popcorn machine or as three-dimensional moulds of various lakes. The exhibition also includes a video work by the artist Youlee Ku with sound by Fabian Feichter.
