It's spring, nature is awakening and "Lana blossoms" once again from 1 to 30 April 2024. Blossoms and wild herbs once again play a special role in the spring events in Lana and the surrounding area and offer countless opportunities to get to know them better: spring highlights, creative workshops, themed lectures, wild herb hikes and much more are on offer. The Farmers' Mile of Delights in the centre of Lana awaits visitors on Saturday, 6 April with more than 50 South Tyrolean farm stands. The Apple Blossom Golf Tournament on Saturday, 13 April invites you to kick off the golf season with a tee-off and spring menu right on the green. The traditional Blossom Farm Festival on Sunday, 21 April is dedicated to the historic farms and farmsteads, which give the public an insight into farm life and treat them to farmhouse delicacies.

That spring is tentatively preparing to make its debut, is noticeable from the first bulbs appearing on the new branches of trees and shrubs, or well-tended pot plants in private gardens, and a wide range of herbs growing in the wild. Nature’s reawakening also fires the creative imagination of the restaurant chefs in and around Lana. Between 1 – 30 April 2023, during the "Lana in Bloom" gourmet weeks, there are abundant reinterpretations of traditional delicacies using seasonal wild herbs and fresh local ingredients. n the villages of Vilpian, Siebeneich and Terlan asparagus has been grown for centuries. Today 15 asparagus growers in Terlan plant approx. 10 ha of high quality asparagus and sell it under the trade mark and hallmark of excellence Margarete. The elegant looking and extremely mild tasting Terlan asparagus is very popular with the connoisseurs of this white spring vegetable. In April and May several restaurants invite visitors to enjoy classic and creative asparagus dishes made with the valuable Margarete asparagus. Fresh asparagus with home-cured ham, boiled potatoes and Bozner sauce is one of the classics. The meal is accompanied by the fine, mineral containing Terlano “asparagus wine” (Sauvignon) from the Terlan winery.

Every Friday, from the beginning of April to mid-October, farmers from the Sterzing area offer their local quality products at the farmers' market. At the market in the town square of Sterzing, people meet for the weekly purchase of local South Tyrolean products or for a "glass of wine". The varied offer ranges from traditional bacon and “Kaminwurzen” , fresh and smoked trout, cheese and yogurt specialties, homemade bread, organic wines, herbs, honey, eggs to homemade juices and fresh vegetables. Locals and guests have appreciated the market for over a decade now. Tip: Do not miss the delicious “Krapfen and Tirtler” of the Wipptaler farmers' wives!

From 19th April to 21st April, the event Algund Gardenflair will once again take place on church square in Algund. At the Algund Gardenflair a variety of Mediterranean plants and trees such as palm trees, cacti, olive trees, various fruit and berry trees and herbs, as well as various works of art and all kinds of decoration for the garden will be offered. Exhibitors with different herbal products, such as teas, salts and spice blends, as well as specialties from the garden complete the program.
