Friedrich von Rodank certainly had good intuition when way back in 1140 he ordered the
Rodengo castle to be built on this rocky spur that dominates the Rienza river: the incredible beauty of this castle, which has never been conquered, even today still makes quite an impression.
Another amazing work is the cycle of frescoes in the castle tavern. Painted at the beginning of the 13th century and rediscovered only in 1972, the frescoes are inspired by the saga of Ivanhoe. Rodengo is situated on a gentle slope in a beautifully sunny location, with large farms and hotels run with exacting care, plus the church isolated between the town and the castle.
You can stroll, climb up one of the gentle mountains in the area and admire the magnificence of the Dolomites. You can enter an Alpine pasture and while away the hours in peace and quiet before returning to Rodengo - your vacation spot. In the winter, the
Rodengo/Luson Alps become the ideal spot for cross-country skiing, thanks to its sunny, isolated location and unmatched beauty
