The Isarco Valley offers many opportunities for experienced climbers who are looking for a thrill – and variety from a vertical perspective. The gamut runs from steep climbing walls amidst some of the world’s most spectacular rocks, the
UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, to the wild mountain landscapes of the Wipptal and
Ridanna Valleys. Whether on the valley’s via ferrata routes, at its climbing parks or on a guided mountain-climbing tour, anyone who loves this sport will find a favorite route in the Isarco Valley.
In Brixen, indoor climbers will find climbing gyms such as
Vertikale Climbing Center, where sport climbers will find a selection of 150 different routes of all levels and a bouldering room with over 170 boulders. In the center of the hall there is a tower, which is encased in glass surfaces and thus offers climbers a view of the mountains and of
Brixen’s historical center. Outdoor climbing enthusiasts will also enjoy the sizable open-air section at Vertikale Climbing Center.
Small and large adventurers alike should visit
SKYTREK High-Ropes and Adventure Park in Vipiteno, near the
valley station of Rosskopf. Two introductory courses, a children's route, a zip line and five courses of varying levels of difficulty provide adventures and an adrenalin thrill in the treetops to high-ropes climbers.
