Due to organizational reasons, the 2017 edition of the Börz-Plose Bike Day has been cancelled.
The route followed by the non-competitive Börz-Plose Bike Day
of about 51 km (with a difference in altitude of 1,370 m), takes both seasoned and fit amateur cyclists around the Plose up over the Passo delle Erbe/Würzjoch Pass (= Börz) in the Dolomites. So the road from S. Andrea/St. Andrä over Plancios to the Passo delle Erbe/Würzjoch and back over Luson/Lüsen to S.Andrea/St. Andrä will be blocked to the traffic from 9.30 am til 1.30 pm. Cyclists can access the route at 9:30.
Be aware, that even with all the best measures taken, cars can be on the road randomly.
There are 3 access points: S. Andrea/St. Andrä, Luson/Lüsen and Coll – Funes/Villnöss in Valle Isarco/Eisacktal Valley and Antermoia in Val Badia/Gadertal Valley.
The route of the Börz Plose Bike Day race leads around the Passo delle Erbe/Würzjoch pass. Everyone is invited to join in and to participate in this leisurely bicycle trip, as it is not intended as a competitive event. Participants are free to choose at which level and for how long they want to join the race, and the only recommendation is to join the circuit in a clockwise direction.
Participation is free of charge. Participating cyclists will face a varied total distance of 61.8 miles.
Along the route several refreshment points are available; mountain huts, bars and restaurants along the route are open for cyclists.
The Börz, the original Ladin name for Würzjoch, is situated at the foot of the Sass Putia/ Peitlerkofel mountain. With its magnificent views and access points it offers a varied tour for every bycicle-fan!
