"Castel Tasso/Schloss Reifenstein" Castle in Vipiteno/Sterzing

Reifenstein Castle sits on the rock that rises to the southwest of Sterzing. While the southern side of the castle is surrounded by a simple wall, the northern side is equipped with a defensive complex in front of the entrance, with a pointed vault, a gate that can be lowered and guard walkways, with slots and windows. The deep moat between the part in front of the castle and the main structure is still spanned by a historical bridge today. The small Church of St. Zeno is located in the vicinity of the castle.
