The monastic life of Brixen
The quarter of monasteries and convents lies in the quiet south of Brixen. Walking down the lanes "Brunogasse" and "Runggadgasse", we seem to reach another world. The Capucin monastery is an idyllic building, which was constructed in 1602. One of the monks guides you through it. The convent opposite, which was founded in 1702 by Maria Hueber, was once a centre for girls' education in Tyrol.
The particularly venerable convent of the order of St. Clare was already founded around 1235, in St. Clare's lifetime, and is not accessible to other people. However, in the visitor's room a nun introduces
